Question for you mechanics?

this was put on my advisories from my mot, can someone please explain what this means and the affect it has on the car/handling.

1. nearside anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a ball joint.

2. front prop has lots of end float|||drop links on the front anti-roll bar are worn .I can only assume it is a four wheel drive because they have prop shaft`s and yours has some movement ,FWD have drive shaft`s,|||Anti roll bar link correctly answered i previous questions. As for the end float in the front prop this can only be the front diff because that is the only place you will find end float. Any wear on the prop itself will result in the prop becoming unbalanced and you will notice this because the vehicle will vibrate when driving. As for the diff it should not normally have end float if it has developed end float it means that the bearings on the pinion have become worn this will mean that the pinion is not in perfect mesh with the crown wheel in which case you should be able to hear a low rumble when driving. I would take it to a garage and get it checked out because if you leave it and it wears further all that will happen is the diff will eventually screw itself up and jam.

Motor Mechanic 40 years Gearbox %26amp; Diff Specialist|||Wow, trust the Brits to make it tough lol. On the sway bar/anti roll bar, one of the links is worn a bit. By prop, I'm assuming they mean either a drive axle, or the driveshaft/prop, having excess movement in it. Both of these items together would cause some excessive play in the steering and/or poor response in turns at higher speeds. I wish the automotive world would get together on terms and make it easier on everybody. Hope this helped.|||Anti roll bar link is a way of connecting the anti roll bar to the suspension excessive wear will lead to a knocking noise and eventually failure of the joint. This will affect the handling of the vehicle you obviously have a 4/4.The front prop shaft having excessive end float could be one of many problems the most likely is the u joint coupling is worn it needs replacing.
