i have a peugeot 206 2000





they said they dint get their parts from the dealer, i doubt the authenticity.


Your look at 拢30 MOT, on the surface that looks good, but they rip u through the service to compensate for it.


they changed the price soo many times and were less reluctant for me to buy my own parts. They said service cost was 拢280 over phone, then they had to buy something which boosted the price to 拢550 which apparently dint include replacing the back wheels, then they rang to say it did. but when it came to paying it was 拢510?! so they really dont know what they're doing.


Anyhow i did some research on price and came with the following:

I would have estimated labour at about 拢300, so you're winnning, I think!|||For what you got it sounds reasonable. But did you get it all or need it all is the point and you will never know.





I never get my car mot'd and repaired at the same place. It is too tempting for them to make up fictitious work.





I have caught out two mot stations inventing work that did not exist this way.|||So what was the other item, you have not mentioned that and one can not estimate any cost with out that detail. Remember that the item could only cost about 拢100 but due to difficulties removing and replacing the labour could be over 拢100.|||you are not just paying for parts.|||in your 2nd list it doesn't include labour|||Yep, sounds like you were ripped off. Having accepted the service and paid for it though, you can't do much about it now -sorry.





an MOT should cost 拢54 - its a price set by the Government (VOSA). Several garages do offer MOTs at reduced prices, but many are also notorious for inflating repair costs and re-test fees so it ends up costing a lot more than the 拢15-拢20 you saved on the test fee.





The two most important things to remember when dealing with businesses like this are 'Buyer Beware', and 'if it seems too good to be true, it probably is' !!!!
