Are these things dangerous?

I took my car (fiat brava) in for its MOT today and it failed on

* Offside front (drop link) anti-roll bar rubber bush deteriorated resulting in excessive movement,

* Offside track rod end ball joint has excessive play.

Could anybody tell me what these things do or are for?

Thanks xx|||Sure Love, The anti-roll (sway) bar is under the car and keeps it from leaning too much when you go around a corner. It has rubber or plastic bushings to hold it in place. the track rod end ball joint (tie rod end) is the the rod that attaches the steering rack to the steering knuckle-the thing that turns when you turn the wheel It's good to replace that because your tires will wear out quick and the alignment will be off. The sway bar is not so important but probably rattles when you go over a bump. Either way you have to get them fixed and it will be a better car. Happy motoring..Geo|||These are part of your front suspension and steering system - so, yes. they are important.|||their put there just so the mechanics can fix them for big bucks%26lt;
