My volvo failed MOT ?

My volvo failed MOT because the rear anti-roll bar linkage has excessive play in a ball joint. Can you please tell me what part would be required to repair this problem? Is it just a matter of replacing a ball joint? |||It depends on the individual suspension type you have.

On a Volvo, its quite likely that you can have just the ball joint replaced.

Call a local garage (or main dealer) with the MOT fail sheet description and they should be able to tell you what parts are involved, parts cost and cost of replacement (labour). Should be a pretty straightforward fix.|||did you not ask garage when you got your car back?|||could be a rubber bush or new roll bar or wishbone|||Hi,

The part you are referring to is the rear sway bar link rod. You can replace the link, and may consider replacing both links in the rear, since these are a common problem on Volvo's. See the link below for a picture of the part.
